The World of Madonna – An exclusive evening dedicated to one of the greatest pop icons of all time

On Saturday, April 18th, BitefArtCafe will host a spectacular night dedicated to one of the most influential artists in pop history. Taking the stage is the tribute project The World of Madonna, a show celebrating the music, energy, and visual identity of the artist who forever changed pop culture.

The repertoire is designed as a tribute not only to Madonna, but also to the unforgettable pop aesthetic of the 1980s. With powerful vocals, authentic stage presence, and striking visuals, the audience will relive timeless hits such as “Like a Virgin,” “Vogue,” “La Isla Bonita,” “Frozen,” and many more songs that defined generations.

The project was founded by acclaimed musician Nevena Branković, who gathered a team of top-tier performers with the goal of bringing the atmosphere and stage expression of Madonna’s legendary concerts closer to the audience. The band also features guitarist Srđan Branković, known for his work with the band Alogia, whose distinctive guitar sound adds depth to the production.

A special visual dimension is brought by dancers Olga Crnoseljanski and Aleksandra Marinković, artists known for their work at Theatre on Terazije and Lafayette Cuisine Cabaret Club, whose performances add glamour and theatricality to the evening.

A special segment of the night will feature a guest appearance by one of the most prominent vocalists on the local scene, performing iconic pop classics from the 1980s and further enriching the atmosphere of this unique musical event.

Dynamic, energetic, and filled with dance and timeless melodies, the concert celebrates the career of an artist who redefined the boundaries of pop music.

INTERVIEW

You come from a classical music background. How has that shaped the way you approach pop music today?
Classical training gave me musical literacy, discipline, strong technical foundations, and a deeper understanding of music. It taught me to pay attention to detail and showed me how important practice, time, and persistence are. Pop music, on the other hand, teaches me freedom, a different kind of emotion, and a more direct and intimate connection with the audience. I try to combine those two worlds.

You’ve performed everywhere from jazz festivals to cruise ships and major international stages, what have those experiences taught you about audiences?
Each audience is different, but they all share something in common: they recognize genuine emotion and good energy on stage, and they all come to enjoy themselves.

What does Madonna represent to you personally, an artist, a performer, or a phenomenon?
She is all three. Beyond her music, she constantly pushed boundaries both musically and visually. She became a phenomenon, a pop icon, a gay icon, a fashion icon, a symbol of freedom of expression. Through her music, she always carried a strong social message, advocating freedom, individuality, and the courage to express one’s views. She never followed trends, she set them.

What was the biggest challenge in bringing that identity to the stage?
Creating a Madonna tribute project is very challenging, and it’s not something you can do alone. You need great musicians, dancers, and costumes to make it work. Since I’ve spent my whole life playing piano and singing, dance was the biggest challenge for me, something completely new and very much a “jump into the fire.”

How did you choose the repertoire, personal favorites or songs the audience expects?
Her biggest hits like “Like a Virgin,” “Material Girl,” “Vogue,” and “Like a Prayer” are essential. We made sure to include the most iconic songs from each decade of her career, from the ’80s to today. Personally, I most enjoy performing songs from the ’80s through the Ray of Light era, that’s the music I grew up with.

Did working on this project reveal a new side of Madonna to you?
Yes, her lyrics. I hadn’t explored them deeply before, and now I see how strong they are. For example, “Express Yourself” simple, yet powerful, a true feminist anthem. I also discovered all the historical figures she references in “Vogue,” paying tribute to icons of old Hollywood who shaped culture and inspired generations, including Madonna herself.

The World of Madonna is not just a concert, but a visual spectacle. How important is that performative aspect?
It’s just as important as the music itself. We aim to recreate the atmosphere of Madonna’s concerts as much as possible. Of course, we can’t fully replicate the scale of her productions, but we have an excellent band and two amazing dancers who help bring that visual dimension to life.

How difficult is it to balance tribute and personal expression?
In a tribute project, there isn’t much room for personal interpretation. Audiences expect to hear the songs as they know them. However, each musician inevitably brings their own character and identity to the performance. I’d say our band has a strong rock vibe, which works really well live.

BitefArtCafe is known for its live energy, what kind of atmosphere do you want to create on April 18th?
I want to create a great party, a night where people feel happy, entertained, and inspired, dancing to music that brings back beautiful memories.

The audience at BitefArtCafe can expect a night of glamour, nostalgia, and top-tier entertainment, in the spirit of one of the greatest pop icons of all time.
