Album Launch Concert: DECA LOŠIH MUZIČARA at BitefArtCafe, June 13th!

One of the most respected Belgrade bands, known for their unique blend of funk, rock, jazz, and streetwise charm, is coming to get you on your feet!

It’s been twenty years since Deca Loših Muzičara’s last album, Gde cveta Samsung žut. In that time, a new generation has grown up, mostly familiar with the band through stories and legends about taking down the former dictator. Popular bands have since shrunk into duos or trios, with or without a leader, and today, instead of Vlade Divac, people follow Nikola Jokić’s transatlantic finesse.

This is the first full-length release featuring the band’s “new singer,” Nenad Petrović, who’s actually been part of the lineup for ten years, with dozens of live performances under his belt. During the recording of this album, a lineup change also occurred on guitar — Lazar Ilić replaced Predrag Stojković.

The new material spent years searching for a home among local labels before finally settling under the wing of young label Midget Unit Records.

The single Ustani Slaj Stoune, Srbija te zove (“Stand Up Sly Stone, Serbia’s Calling”) makes it clear that DLM still has something to say — and something to show.
Across nine new tracks, the band stays true to their signature sound: a solid, reliable rhythm section, infectious melodies with killer brass lines, and witty, relevant haiku-style lyrics by Milje.

On this album, DLM quite logically asks the ultimate question: “Vatafakin is goin on?”

“As a band, if you imagine us as a living organism, regular gigs are definitely the backbone of that organism. DLM fans know they can expect anything but a soulless gig, fake attitude, quiet music, unnecessary pyrotechnics, or anything soft below the waist,” the band once stated.
