BitefArtCafe club, one of the key venues on Belgrade’s concert scene, announces a series of carefully curated performances that will mark the city’s music season in the months ahead. Audience can look forward to concerts by regional pop-rock and alternative icons, as well as exclusive performances by internationally acclaimed musicians as part of the Musicology Sessions concert series – a project dedicated to contemporary sound, improvisation, and outstanding musical expression.

The program features concerts by Detour, Boris Režak, Neno Belan, Aerodrom, Babe, and Pips, Chips & Videoclips, while the Musicology Sessions series will exclusively present performances by Marta and Vasil Hadžimanov, the Frank Gambale All-Star Group, MonoNeon, Michael Mayo, and Selah Sue & The Gallands.

Detour – February 14

The Zagreb-based band, known for its modern pop sound, sophisticated arrangements, and powerful lyrics, is an ideal choice for audiences who appreciate contemporary regional pop with a distinctive artistic signature.

This year, Belgrade will become a meeting place for love and music, as Detour prepares a special concert in celebration of Valentine’s Day. The evening promises to awaken emotions, ignite the dance rhythm, and offer audiences a unique experience, taking them through two decades of one of the region’s most esteemed pop bands. With their distinctive sound, heartfelt lyrics, and infectious melodies, Detour delivers a performance in which every lyric and every note carries weight and meaning.

“Each of our performances is somewhat different, but the setlist will be partially tailored to the occasion. Since most of our songs are already love-themed, there won’t be major changes.” Nenad Borgudan

Boris Režak – February 20

A singer-songwriter whose songs balance introspective ballads and powerful choruses, known for direct engagement with the audience and concerts that evolve into a shared experience.

Boris comes to the intimate and warm atmosphere of BitefArtCafe, a venue where audience and artist truly connect. Fans will have the opportunity to enjoy his distinctive musical world, filled with heartfelt emotions, gentle melodies, and the sense of closeness that Boris creates with his audience.

“It feels great, as it has been a personal wish of mine to perform at BitefArtCafe, and the audience can expect genuine energy as well as an excellent performance.”
Boris Režak

Neno Belan – March 6

Neno Belan, one of the most beloved singer-songwriters of the regional pop-rock scene, will perform on March 6 at BitefArtCafe, a venue where his concerts have become a tradition. It will be an evening dedicated to songs that have accompanied us through the years, emotions that never fade, and memories that have marked generations.

“I experience BitefArtCafe as a space with soul and continuity. It is a club where music is truly listened to, not just consumed, and that is immediately felt. Such venues are rare and precious, as they preserve the idea of live performance as a meeting, rather than just an event to ‘tick off.’ This concert is therefore especially dear to me, as a return to the essence of music.”
Neno Belan

Aerodrom – March 26

Led by Jurica Pađen, one of the most significant songwriters and guitarists of the region, Aerodrom has been shaping the history of domestic rock for over four decades. As one of the key bands of the New Wave era, they have left an indelible mark with songs that continue to be sung by all generations, from: „Kad misli mi vrludaju“ and „Stavi pravu stvar“, to „Obična ljubavna pjesma“, „Digni me visoko“, „24 sata“ and „Fratello“.

For their Belgrade show, the band promises a night brimming with emotion, energy, and timeless songs that have outlasted the era in which they were made.

“Belgrade has a special energy and an audience that listens with their hearts. BitefArtCafe is a place where music breathes together with the people, and we are truly looking forward to this encounter, to singing together the songs that have connected us all over the years.”
Jurica Pađen

Babe – March 27

A Belgrade rock band whose performances deliver raw energy, a direct sound, and an authentic rock ’n’ roll attitude, always in strong interaction with the audience.

Known for their witty lyrics, sharp humor, and unforgettable stage presence, Babe defined an era of the domestic music scene and now return to remind everyone why they remain unique. The band was founded in 1992 as a solo project of vocalist and guitarist Žika Milenković (Bajaga i Instruktori), alongside Goran Čavajda Čavke (Električni Orgazam) and Zoran Ilić Ilke (Riblja Čorba). A combination of musical experience, theatrical expression, and sharp humor quickly set Babe apart as an authentic rock supergroup, whose performances are as much a concert as they are a show.

“BitefArtCafe is the perfect venue for Babe – intimate, loud, and sincere. We love looking the audience in the eyes and creating together an evening to remember.”

Žika Milenković

PipsChips&Videoclips – April 3

One of the most authentic bands of the regional rock scene, led by the charismatic Dubravko Ivaniš Ripper, Pips have built a distinctive musical world from the early ’90s to the present, emotional, intelligent, often introspective, yet always sincere. Their songs did not follow trends but created their own language, earning them a devoted audience that has followed them for decades.

They are known for performances that go beyond the traditional concert format, evolving into a powerful emotional experience in which the audience and the band function as a single entity. That is why a show in an intimate venue like BitefArtCafe carries special significance, offering a rare opportunity to experience a band of this caliber up close.

“Club concerts have always been our natural environment. We love spaces where there is direct contact with the audience, where there is no distance, and where the music breathes together with the people. We are looking forward to our first performance at BitefArtCafe and to connecting with the Belgrade audience in such an intimate setting.”

Frank Gambale – April 2

Grammy-winning guitar virtuoso Frank Gambale will deliver a powerhouse performance on the Musicology Sessions stage with his All-Star group, delivering his legendary, passion-fueled sound, which Rolling Stone magazine has described as “ferocious”!

Frank was a member of Chick Corea’s electric lineup for over 36 years, performing alongside Eric Marienthal, John Patitucci, and Dave Weckl. He spent twelve years as a member of Steve Smith’s band Vital Information and also joined Return to Forever IV with Stanley Clarke, Jean-Luc Ponty, and Lenny White.

“Everything you touch with your guitar turns to gold – it always has.”

Chick Corea

As a legendary guitarist, Grammy winner, and three-time nominee, Gambale is an undisputed genius who created the “Gambale Sweep Picking Technique” and his revolutionary “Gambale Tuning,” both of which continue to inspire generations of musicians.

Frank Gambale’s All-Star group, fiery and full of fantastic variety for guitar enthusiasts, features an impressive lineup in which Frank plays raw electric guitar, jazz guitar, and often acoustic guitar. He also sings with a silky, powerful voice that will surprise many, though not his fans, who are well aware of his vocal talent.

His music is vibrant, dynamic, and touches the heart, and his talent inspires everyone who picks up a guitar. Frank Gambale is not just a guitarist, he is a living legend and proof that music, when created with passion and mastery, can transcend time, genres, and expectations.

“I love bringing my music to audiences around the world. In Belgrade, I will perform a diverse repertoire from my rich catalog of compositions created over the years. What makes this especially exciting for me, and I believe adds a unique charm, is that my wife, Boca, will join me in performing several Soulmine pieces from my last two albums.

The band is in top form. Tom Schuman on keyboards, one of the founding members of Spyro Gyra, is a fantastic addition. Gergo Borlai, already a major star in his native Hungary, is spectacular on drums, while rising star Martin Gudics impresses greatly on bass guitar. And of course, the beautiful and incredibly talented Boca Gambale, my wife, brings her powerful voice and charismatic stage presence. It will be an amazing concert you won’t want to miss.”
Frank Gambale

MonoNeon – March 12

A bass player of the new generation and musical innovator, known for his work with Prince and a distinctive style blending funk, jazz, and experimentation, he delivers a concert that blurs the boundaries between genres.

Musicology Sessions will host one of the most original and daring musicians of the contemporary global scene, known for his distinctive sound and visual identity, a colorful, unconventional aesthetic that deliberately rejects norms and reflects his artistic message of freedom, individuality, and uncompromising expression.

MonoNeon is an artist who breaks down boundaries between genres, as well as between performer and audience. His music exists at the intersection of funk, jazz, hip-hop, soul, and free improvisation, yet what makes it truly unique is a sense of complete rhythmic, emotional, and expressive freedom. His performances are not prearranged sets, but living, open musical processes in which the moment becomes composition.
His philosophy of playing is rooted in spontaneity and authenticity.

“It’s my first time in Serbia, and my first time in Belgrade. I’m not expecting anything, and that’s usually the best starting point. But if I do expect something, it’s curiosity, that moment when the ears and mind drift in and out, then lean back into the music again. I’m looking forward to seeing how the energy flows between us and where that curiosity will take us.”
MonoNeon

Michael Mayo – April 28

One of the most exciting vocalists of the new generation and an artist of the contemporary neo-soul and jazz scene, whose expression pushes the boundaries of traditional concepts of voice and improvisation, was born in Los Angeles into a family of professional musicians rooted in jazz, R&B, and gospel traditions. This rich heritage shaped his unique approach to music from an early age, using his voice not just as an instrument, but as a complete palette of tones, colors, and emotions.

“As a performer, I strive to follow my first instinct, which leads to a place where words and notes become truth. For me, music is a conversation, and every performance is a new story that we create together with the audience.”
Michael Mayo

Selah Sue and The Gallands – May 14

Selah Sue, the Belgian singer-songwriter who has conquered the global stage with her distinctive voice and authentic expression, returns to Musicology Sessions, this time in an entirely new light with her project Selah Sue and The Gallands.

Driven by Selah Sue’s magical voice, this project is the result of a collaboration between the Belgian icon and the father–son duo, Stéphane and Elvin Galland. Originally built around the Galland family’s musical universe, which blends organic grooves, contemporary jazz, and cutting-edge production, the project gained a new dimension when Selah transformed their instrumental creations into powerful songs, merging soulful intensity with electrifying live energy.

Selah Sue and The Gallands bring music that is free, vibrant, and profoundly alive, turning each performance into a unique experience.

BitefArtCafe and Musicology Sessions once again affirm their position on the city’s cultural map, consistently curating a program that connects international artists, the regional scene, and authentic live music experiences.
